Do you watch Spa Q?....

During lunch just now I stayed in the office trying to complete some personnel arrant through internet banking. Suddenly I heard loud laughs from the common office area outside my cubicle. Try to be busy body I peeped to see what actually happening.

Group of few ladies were crowding one of the staff table watching something on the computer screen. Silently I went to stand behind them to see what was it so interesting that made everybody concentrating on the computer.

“Hi… no wonder everyone was complaining. Look! she’s so sexy!... you see the man’s hand was under her breast!” one of the ladies said anxiously.

“Yerk!... I don’t like that drama!... “ another lady voiced out.

“Why?... I thought Spa Q is one of the most popular drama in TV3!” I purposely interfered. Then only they realized that I was standing behind them.

“Do you watch that drama, Madam?” one of the ladies asked me.

“Never!... 6.30 to 7.30 pm I used to be still on the road. Even if I managed to reach home early, it already almost time for ‘Magrib prayer’. So, which is more important, the drama or the ‘Magrib prayer’?” I took the opportunity to give some sort of Friday tazkirah.

“It’s good you didn’t watch it, Madam!...” the lady said again.
“Why?” I asked, just wondering why.
“The story was not portraying good image of Islamic way of life!... all the times the story was evolved about jealousy, casanova, back stabbing, ungrateful children, greediness and revenge. It’s as if reflected that the Malays are always like to topple their friends if their friends do good in their business and as if most Malays are very revengeful. The ladies were seem all very sexy, not reflecting the Islamic value at all!... Even at the wedding, there is no show of any Islamic value!... To me, it is not a good drama for the youngsters and if the non-Malays watch it, it would give a negative impression on the Malays’ attitude and behaviour!” the lady explained full heartedly.

“Really?” I was a bit surprised with the information. No wonder, I did once read in the news paper about the unsuitable and sexy cloths worn by one of the actress was hotly complained by some viewers.

I thought TV is one of the media that should educate the public on good values of life and some other positive characters that can be followed or adopted as role models to the publics especially the youngsters. If such stories are to be shown now and then, I am not surprised that the negative social culture that is widely affecting our country lately could not be curbed. It was as if telling the people that it is OK for you to back stab your friends, or betrayed your love ones as long as you can get whatever you want!...

I don’t want to comment much on this particular drama as I don’t really watch it. But from the photo that I’ve seen in the internet, I some sort agreed with my staff’s comments as above. Thus, what are the actual roles of the Ministry of Information if such complaints are let loose just like that as if nothing to be fussed of. Eeemmm… to me, if you think it is not good, don’t watch it!... there are many other channels that we can watch. It’s up to our own choice, isn’t it? Moreover, whether it is good or not is very subjective to the viewers. Anyway, I’m just still wondering why such drama is popular?... Anybody who would like to comments are most welcome!...

Salam,

Farhah, nekcun tak beranilah nak komen sangat2 sebab nekcun tak tengok pun drama2 waktu tuh... jadi dengar ajer ler aper orang komen...

Eeemm... entahlah mungkin artis2 nih rasa bangga kalau orang tahu cara hidup mereka camtu!...

Adinda, tak sangka plak yang adinda pun suka tengok kartun. Nekcun sebenarnya jarang tengok TV kerana nak mengetuk papan kekunci komputer pun kekadang tak cukup masa!... hehehe...

hehe...nekcun...syd mmg tak ambik port...tak tau menda pun pasal drama-drama ni...kalo drama syd layan Dr House je...ngan drama korea & jepun..kalo melayu mmg hampeh...penilaian syd drama melayu sama macam yang pompuan tu cakap la...takde moral value leh ambil...sikit-sikit gadoh...memang identik sangat orang melayu dengan pergadohan dalam drama..jarang takde konflik dan damai...

kalau buat lawak lak buat lawak bodo..menyampah..

Good article Madam.

Frankly speaking, I hate to watch it too.

Wrench…

I was tried to find the good value behind the scene. But I fail to do so all the time.

In fact, most of my concentration had been intervallic with some indecent dress… outrages, overwhelming.

Devastating…

I can feel this ‘sitcom’ will give bad impact to our girls and guys out there - which are still in searching own identity.

Lets we look behind the scene; the backbone of the SPA Q. I’m afraid that those people are leak of Islamic thought or intentionally not concern about it.

If not too much, I would consider the SPA Q is a ‘mislead creativity – which is out of Malays minus boundaries’.

In my observation, perhaps they want to redesign our people mind to accept the ideology of so called ‘the latest fashion; the vogue one’ – In which they are regard and influences that a sophisticated girl or well-known persons should dress-up like in the ‘pictures’. Yet the surrounding people would impress and put much respect on them.

I think, now, it is time to those people who has a strong background in religious make a film. Hmm… In away to give option pictures, which are the good deeds and the bad things in regard of Islamic thought.

(maza: try to speak in English...heheh, walaupun berkecamuk sakan...pstt tu ler, dulu2 tak nak mengaji sungguh2..)

Girls,

I really respect to you all…

If you not take care of your gender, who else?!

And as a man, I always concerned that particular deed…

Indeed, there have a Malay proverb, not English version;

Kelana/Amir Husaini, apa khabar? Lama tak singgah. Memang nekcun pun rindu gak drama macam siri Opah & Anjang Aki. Leh gak nekcun jadi pelakon watak 'Opah' tuh!... hehehe...

Maza, nekcun tend to agree with you!... as if in order to show that you are rich people you need to wear sexy & up-to-date fashion of cloths. Why? Does rich people don't wear 'tudung?' I really wonder!... because (not that I want to brag)most of my neigbours are the rich peoples such as Tan Sri, Dato', successful business family, etc, but they still wear decent cloths and most of the ladies are wearing 'tudung'. I think only artists are not shameful to show their 'aurat' and it reflected their own way of life style... bak kata pepatah Melayu "Biar papa asal bergaya!"... hehehe...

Masni, eloklah... tak payahlah tengok kalau cerita yang tak ada Islamic value tu... nanti merosakkan minda ajer... nekcun rasa cerita tu buat malu orang Melayu jer...
